Digicon-AASA Joint Venture Awarded FirstSource II Contract by DHS
Herndon, VA – November 19, 2012

Green IT Systems Group, a Small Business Administration (SBA)-approved joint venture (JV) between Digicon Corporation and Applied Advanced Scientific Analysis, Inc. (AASA), is pleased to announce its selection by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as one of seven FirstSource II awardees in the 8(a) socio-economic category.

FirstSource II is a suite of Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts through which a variety of IT commodities, solutions, and value-added reseller services are available to support DHS programs. DHS can issue Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) (to include FFP with incentives) or Time and Materials (T&M) Delivery Orders under FirstSource II contracts, which are available to all DHS components on a mandatory-for-consideration basis. The contracts have a five-year base period and two additional one-year option periods.

Green IT Systems Group combines the capabilities of Digicon and AASA into a single, focused enterprise serving Federal Government markets. The partnership between Digicon and AASA is part of the SBA’s formal Mentor-Protégé program, through which Digicon assists AASA in its business management and development as part of the SBA’s mission to support and promote small businesses throughout the nation. As Green IT Systems Group’s Mentor Partner, Digicon has the opportunity to foster AASA’s growth while promoting combined resources and services to a wider client base.

“AASA is very excited about our JV being one of the 8(a) awardees on FirstSource II,” stated Rabih Tannous, AASA’s President and CEO. “Digicon’s mentoring and help have been instrumental for our continued success, and Green IT is looking forward to serving DHS under this contract.”
